@Gaby thank you! I wasn’t sure as I can’t remember what it all felt like with my first! It feels somewhat worse when I do more? Today I mopped downstairs and we went out shopping and it feels like someone has kicked me in the vagina 🙃 Thank you - I’ll give it a try. The midwife said it was fine for me to bath x
Yeah pack it in doing stuff 🤣🤣 Easier said than done I know but cmon!! You have a dinner plate sized wound on the inside of your body (where your placenta has detached) and a bunch of stitches on the outside. I’d bet you’re not getting a whole lot of sleep and you’re spending your days caring for other people. Put. The. Mop. Down. 🤣😘
I’m 5 days pp and still feeling pressure and stinging, and it actually has felt a bit worse the last day or so than it did immediately afterwards. I didn’t have stitches, but did have a labial tear, and think it’s just feeling tighter as it’s starting to heal up. But definitely worth following up with triage of things don’t feel right. And taking it easy when you can!
@Gaby the mopping was necessary as LB dragged a load of mud /sand in from our garden 😂😂 and my husband apparently doesn’t know how to use one!
@Sophie my husband was delivered without that programming too 🙄🤦🏻♀️
@Kdec22 “just a labial tear” women are absolute warriors 💪🏻
@Gaby snap!! 😂 he cooks though so I can’t really complain🤣
@Sophie I need a refund…
I think when stitches down there are healing it kind of feels how you describe. Like a pulling. Like the skin is sewing itself back together. That said, trust your instinct. You know your body and what’s normal more than they do. I know you don’t get much time as a new mum to rest and chill but a bath with some badedas might help. The smell divides people but it’s nice and gentle and ten years ago (when I had my first baby) it used to be the go to recommendation for post partum baths. Might help take your swelling down and I think two weeks post partum is probably ok to have a bath but check with a midwife or doc to be sure xx
