Can u mix it in yogurt, or if she is bottle fed put it in the bottle teat.
Tesco do their own cherry flavour one? X
@Emma it’s a nightmare isn’t it?
@Kimberley I thought about that but she still doesn’t eat much so I’d still struggle to get a full dose in. Might be better than nothing. She’s breastfed and doesn’t take a dummy so I haven’t tried a bottle teat!
@Melissa do they?! It’s worth a try! Thank you!
@Lauren I mean she may hate that as well but thought it could be worth a try 😂 x
@Melissa probably 😂 but she’s ok with Abidec so it might just be the strawberry flavour! X
Abidec is rank, can’t believe she likes it over calpol- children are so funny! Have you tried re-branding it as ‘fairy juice’ you can put it on a spoon and add 100s and 1000s sprinkles see if that works? Avoid saying it’s medicine and say it’s a treat?
@Rachael I know 😂 that might work when she’s older but she’s only 10 months. I just thought she would’ve got over the taste by now!
It’s very normal in other countries but not in the UK so I did struggle a bit to get the GP to prescribe and to find a pharmacy that stocked, but paracetamol suppositories were a game changer for my calpol-refusing-but-always-poorly toddler.
I have paracetamol suppositories on prescription for my daughter. Even when we can get calpol into her as soon as it hits her stomach she brings it straight back up. Even when she was hospitalised for croup and out of it they couldn’t get oral medicine to stay down. It became such an issue that we couldn’t manage her illnesses that the doctor agreed we could have it on repeat and it’s a game changer. She likes teething powder though! 😂
@Lauren @Sharmi thank you both, definitely going to try and get some suppositories! I tried again this evening and just gave her 1ml on a spoon and she immediately vomited. I’m terrified of her needing antibiotics but hopefully suppositories will be the answer 🙏🤞 Mine likes the teething powder too!!
Is it the purple colour calpol she has tried? My husband came home from the shops with a calpol that was clear one day. My daughter seemed to like that one more than the purple coloured one 🤷🏼♀️ not sure if it was something to do with the colour
@Kat is it still the calpol brand? I’ve tried the normal and the sugar free and she hates both. I did get some suppositories online though and they’re a game changer!
I don’t remember the last time I was able to get any medicine in my son!
