Anti-depressants charge?

Hi all, just want to double check in the UK you have to pay for anti-depressants prescription and it’s not free like contraception? I remember it used to be free a few years ago so was shocked to get charged today.

If you pay for general prescriptions there will usually be a charge for each item

@Beth thank you for confirming x

Depends if you qualify for free prescriptions (certain benefits, pregnancy, etc) but I’ve always paid since I first had them maybe in 2017? The 3 or 12 monthly pre payment certificate is helpful if you can afford the upfront cost as it works out cheaper overall xx

Anti-depressants have never been free, I’ve been on/off them for 10yrs. If you’re on certain benefits/pregnancy then yes prescriptions are free x

Free in Walesas all prescriptions are. They're a normal prescription charge in England. I've been on them for 5 years, I only don't pay now as I'm still on a maternity exemption. I've never had them free other than being on an exemption currently
