Hi! I've been there, I have strapped a rocket to my Moses basket and put that on as I transfer. I also play white noise during the day naps. I also found it helped him to be in his cot fully awake looking at sensory cards or having me talking to him/singing, made him feel safe/happier in the cot!
We've found resting our hand on her chest for a while will eventually resettle her once she's in the moses basket. If she's flailing her arms around we tend to gently hold these down on her chest as she ends up triggering her startle reflex all the time and waking up again. Sometimes this does the trick first time, other times we're back and forth a few times doing this. Interested to see what other methods are working for people too!
We have had trouble with this since day 1. LO is coming up to 11 weeks and we have to slightly elevate his bed so he’ll go to sleep. If he falls asleep on my chest, I’ll put a muslin over him as a sort of blanket, then I transfer him whilst lying him on the muslin and tuck it on the sides of his sheet so it doesn’t scrunch during the night. I also agree with white noise, definitely makes a difference for us! And we found a sleep suit works better for us than a muslin, he’s a wiggler 😅
@Mercedes it’s so draining :( although I’ve been told it gets better at 12 weeks?
@Ellie hey, do you transfer baby when awake? And he falls asleep independently?
@Huddy I do a mixture, in the day I put him down awake, at night I let him fall asleep on me then put him in his next to me
I wait until he's very floppy (try lifting arm to see if there is resistance) then I know he's fast asleep. Then gently but him down bum first and cover with a blanket! As long as u move slowly it should be fine
A friend advised me to put a muslin in my bra in the daytime and then put it in the cot so it smells of me, haven’t tried it yet but might be worth a try 😅
My LO is 10 weeks tomorrow going through the exact same thing. Since he was born. Day or night. I’m exhausted
