Cluster feeding

I am currently EBF and feel like I am non stop feeding from 6pm ish until my baby goes to sleep which is usually about 10pm, sometimes later. During the day I am lucky if I get a 2hr break from it, it feels constant. I want to express some milk for partner to give her a bottle but I don’t feel like I’ve got the time or energy to do so! My nipples feel constantly sore and baby is so temperamental as to when she will take a dummy. She is nearly 8 weeks old…. Any tips? When does this end? Does it ever end? 😅

It’s not very long hopefully. My now 14 wk old was the same. Get some nipple cream and some drinks and snacks lined up for the evening!! xx

Very normal for baby to cluster in the evenings. Your capacity is at its lowest in the evenings.

My boy was the same at that age. It should start to ease a bit soon. He's 6 months now and feeds every 3 hours and goes to sleep around 7/8. You'll slowly get your evenings back and some time to yourself.

Very normal! I EBF and feed on demand my 3 week old will cluster feed from 6:30-8:30. My second did the same thing and yes it will get better!

It will get easier and better when baby is around 3 month old. Then they'll be distracted and feed super quick. My 5 month old feeds within 10min per feed now x8/ day.

ugh, that sounds super tough! it does get easier, but it can feel like forever right now, so just hang in there! maybe try pumping when baby is napping or after a feed, even if it's just a little bit? and don’t forget to take care of yourself too! 💕 I actually checked the 'Heal App' for this and here’s what it says: "It sounds like you're going through a challenging time with breastfeeding, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed, especially with a newborn. First, consider trying to establish a more structured feeding schedule during the day, which might help your baby feed more efficiently and give you some breaks. Additionally, expressing milk can be easier if you do it right after a feeding when your breasts are less full, or you can try using a manual pump for shorter sessions. As for the soreness, ensure your baby is latching correctly, as this can make a significant difference.

Thank you, this app is so lovely 💓
