You don’t need to pay for a course lol. Just look up YouTube videos for your specific situation, like “17 month old sleep”. My son has also been struggling a bit with sleep — just be consistent. We give him milk before bed and when he wakes up in the middle of the night. We rock him the in chair but a lot of times he still wakes up when we try to move him to the crib. I just leave the room and wait a few minutes, he usually goes to sleep. I know that sort of thing will change as he gets older.
No input aside from that I’m in the same boat 🥲
If he is waking and wanting a bottle, try filling the bottle with water instead of milk. That's what we did. It took a couple weeks but eventually she didn't want it anymore.
We were struggling for a little bit until I put a pillow in her crib I also used that pillow for a week before I gave it to her so it can smell like me Now I just put her in her crib and sit by her u til she falls asleep
@Kelc @Paulina F the thing is that if I don’t put him to sleep he won’t fall asleep on his own. I’ve tired leaving the white noise on and turning the lights off and laying next to him but it didn’t work he would just sit up. He usually sleeps between 9 and 10pm and I always give him a bottle before he goes to sleep. He usually wakes up 3 times at night crying but not crying I don’t know if that makes since I give a bottle with water and a little juice in it he would drink some and go back to sleep with no problem but then 2 to 3 hrs he will wake again give him the bottle and goes right to sleep so I don’t really know what to do I don’t know if it’s his teeth he usually grabs my hand at times and put it to his mouth and kinda bites me he has been waking up since he was later i thought when he got older her would’ve gotten better but he hasn’t
@Jazmin girl i totally hear you! We STRUGGLED for so long. We continued to consult with our pediatrician and this is the advice he gave that worked for us (after so long of trying). Keep in mind it isn't an overnight thing, it took our daughter a month to finally adjust. She used to only be able to fall asleep to a bottle but now, I can put her down awake. It's so much to type but I'll do my best haha make sure the white noise isn't too loud as well. Give him a bottle 30 minute prior to bed. Rock to sleep instead. Avoid all flavors of liquid such as juice and milk. Water only at night. If he wakes in the night, offer water and slowly he will lose interest. You can try to just pat his butt in the crib or snuggle back to bed instead of offering a bottle. Our pediatrician said not to make it worth waking by offering things they want such as a bottle. If it's teething, try giving him 3.75 of Tylenol before bed to see if it helps! Teething at this age gets awful...
Also, let him cry just a little bit. I'm not saying to do the 5,10, 15 method because my heart couldn't do that. But if you don't let him cry then you'll be stuck in that room haha
