Slippers, button up night gowns/buttoned two piece pj's!
Chap stick, wet wipes (for a "shower" in bed), dry shampoo, lotion (the air is super dry), phone charger, a book or some form of entertainment, slippers or sandals, razor, hair ties or clips
What was my liiifesaver was a diaper ice pack(the hospital gave these to us and honestly i made them when i got home for PP) its a newborn diaper you open like a bag of chips on the buttock part(lol) put ice in it a good amount packed up and deepfreeze..(these were the only thing that helped the pain i had complications at birth), i would take that, witch hazel pads front to back, and spray a lidocaine numbing spray on top of this. dermoplast they also gave us the one specified for women and PP... that was my life saver lol. I ordered the frida mom ice packs but in my opinion they sucked and barely worked
Mothers milk tea
Comfy clothes for you .. a lil robe maybe and I brought my tablet lol to social media it up or watch a show I liked
Sneak in some granola bars, fruit snacks, or other dry snacks for after birth. I was starving. Phone charger is a must. Clothes for you and baby to go home in. Props/outfits for any special pictures you want to take. (Think of a list!) The hospital provides a lot and doesn't want you to bring a lot of extra stuff....
Depends are great I always bring a cozy blanket, my own pillow and towels (just softer.) Stuff to do my hair and makeup. (Nothing fancy but it makes me feel more human and willing yo be in pictures) plus my bathroom stuff. Change of cloths and pj transition makes me more human. I bring a laptop and a speaker for entertainment. I bring a travel humidifier in case it's dry but haven't used. Extension cord. I also pack a bedside/labor bag with little things I might need when I'm stuck in bed and it make it easy for support people to find.... hair band lotion/almond oil chapstick headphones, face wipes
Having an adult nappy and disposable stretchy pants were life savers.
My must have item that no one has mentioned was a super long phone charger
The one thing I always tell people to pack is a nail file! I learned that with my first. At the hospital we delivered at, the nurses put the baby in a shirt that covers their fingers but the hospital didn’t provide a nail file. (And nails can be sharp in newborns!)
Chap stick! Lol
