4 year old complaining about leg pain
Over the weekend,we went to the zoo and my 4 year old walked for about solid 3 hours. She's never really walked this much on a day out as we use her trike or scooter. The next day she woke up complaining that her legs are hurting which is understandable so I massaged them with oil but she continued to complain about the pain. I then gave her a bubble bath so she could soak her legs in warm water, again this didn't make much difference. We are now on day 4 of her waking up in the night and crying because of the pain in her legs. I've been giving her some calpol and encouraging her to rest. I don't know if I should call the doctors for an appointment tomorrow. Any advice will be appreciated
Hi, I had a similar experience with my daughter & even until much later on it continued to happen after the first time. I made an appointment with the Doctor & they suggested ensuring she’s taking enough of her vitamins & to ensure the vitamin D intake was the full - bigger dose. I kept massaging too at the same time and each week tried to make her walk a little longer each time, when local. Another thing that I kept in mind that it could be growing pains too. So I’d say see your doctor and see what they suggest, otherwise just keep massaging and try to keep her slow but consistent walking. Hope that helps somewhat! x
