Im struggling with pp rage, and my daughter just turned 7 months. It's been so uncomfortable. I'm just here for the comments and to tell you you're not alone. I thought mine was situational, but I'm starting to think it's more pp.
I talked with my psychiatrist about it and she actually helped figure out what medication is right for me to help with it. Now medication is not always the answer for everyone, but it has helped me so much. But I also have started doing yoga, and doing stuff to find my “happy” again.
@Miley I was thinking it might be time for me to go back to my psychiatrist. It's been a long time, but I might need that. Nothing else seems to be working.
I had pp rage/depression and ended up in a psychiatric unit for 6 weeks. I hated my daughter and wanted to kill us both. I wanted to smash her head against a wall everytime she annoyed me, it was horrible. I'd speak to a GP/health visitor. Don't keep quiet about how you're feeling x
@Brii I got diagnosed with a chemical imbalance a few years back since I part of my PCOS is my body produces more testosterone than hormones so it affects my mood. So I’ve been on a mood stabilizer for a couple of years already, and she just upped my dose by a little bit and that seemed to help. But I still struggle from time to time, and I really need to get back into therapy. Cause being medicated and going to therapy at the same time really helped but my therapist had her baby about 3 months after me so whenever I was going back from maternity leave, she was starting hers. So now it’s time to find a new therapist for me.🙃
I'm a maternal therapist and I think that 99% of PPD and PPA is situational. I can't stand how much the field harps on "hormonal imbalance"
I am more of a post partum anxiety girlie myself but my best friend had post partum rage. She was really struggling and ended up going to a therapist which has helped her a lot! Her little guy is 18 months and she’s in a way better place now.
