Potty training??

Any baby here potty trained? If so, how?? Any advice please. I’m expecting and what’s stressing me out the most is having to change two diapers and spend double the money on diapers! My little one will play and sit in her potty and say pee but won’t actually go yet. How can I start?? Ideally would want her potty trained by at least 2 a few months before new baby gets here!

No. I didn't potty trained yet and gonna be waiting for him to be ready. There's no age we should be doing it. Every baby is different

We’re gonna start after we get back from vacation in a few weeks. Sitting and reading on the potty 3x a day and then we’ll try the big weekend method where you let them go without diapers so they can feel when they’re wet and then you go cold turkey.

@Aurélie I understand this I’m just wondering what are signs they are ready or how I can start preparing and instilling the habit.

@Grayson no diapers at all or transition to pull ups?

The signs that shows they are ready : they can use stairs putting one feet after another (not both feet in one stairs). That shows the pelvic muscles are ready for sphincter control. Also they can keep the diapers dry for few hours. They can take off their pants on their own and tell you pee/poop when needed All those signals show they are physically and mentally ready to do it. Than potty training should be very smooth 😊

@Esme we’ll do pull-ups with sitting on the potty frequently throughout the day for a few weeks and then try the cold turkey/no diapers method 🫣

Yes we are in the process with potty training and boy I don't remember this being that hard my 2 year old does whatever she wants I pop her when she poops on the floor cs she pees in the toilet just fine and it doesn't faze her this is the stage they say no to everything and get into everything
