Transition

Anyone moved from a carrycot to an inclined buggy yet just my little one keeps crying in carrycot and loves to be upright but worried it's to early

Not yet, typically earliest would be 3-4 months. They can’t be in the pram part until they have better head control so safety reasons. You could pop something under the top of the mattress in the carry cot so there’s an incline and it’s not just flat, that might help 🤞🏼 x

I read not to do this until they can sit

I did this at 4.5 months with my first as he had great head control. Personally don’t think they’d be comfy or secure enough until they have great head control and are a bit more stable / less floppy. Can’t see my Feb 25 baby being in the big seat for a while. I do think it depends on your pram abit too as our travel system with the first was lie flat and okay from newborn technically whereas our bugaboo donkey toddler seat wont be good for a while for my second I don’t think xx

We have for practicality - it lies flat though, and has been tested as suitable for newborns. We don't sit him up in it.

Yes I did this about a week ago he’s holding his head up unaided and we have an egg pram and it lies back practically but not flat he was just getting really stressed in the flat part of the pram x

@Shauna could I have pic just for reference of incline please

It’s sadly too early and not worth risking their neck! But I feel your pain, my girl (first born) started screaming in the pram from 5 weeks and never went back into it until 6+ months when it was a stroller seat. She was a total koala baby and so lived in the carrier. Some say you could try from 4-6 months but depends on the baby as my girl had an amazing neck strength/control from birth and was rolling from 9 weeks & sitting at 5 months so no issues there but she was average sized and just looked too small & slumped when we tested the seat. This was both the bugaboo and yoyo. Yoyo is particularly poor for under 6 months. Anyways it spends on the pram you have as if it can fully recline then you may be able to do so from 3-4 months. Some have newborn inserts like Uppababy vista too. You can also attach a car seat but they can’t be in there for too long at a time. You could try a pillow or propping up, not strictly advised/safety tested but if being supervised should be ok.

@Shauna hey as it doesn’t lie flat, it’s not recommended from newborn, this is the issue with my bugaboo too. Great for support when they’re a toddler though! egg do an attachment / pillow insert you can add to the stroller part to make it safe for them from now cxx

@Sophie my lo is ten weeks I checked with midwife and she said aslong as his chin isn’t on his chest it is fine to use

@Sophie they said it sinks at the bum so his back is still straight and safe

@Shauna no worries, you do you :)

@Sophie slightly rude .. don’t worry I will , I’ve checked with a health professional and I think I’ll listen to them over u so thanks 😘

@Shauna it wasn’t intended to be rude at all so apologies that you’ve taken it that way xx

@Shauna thank you and I didn't mean to start arguments 😕 is this flat or inclined?

@Kimberley that’s it on the flattest setting hun. It’s a bucket seat like my bugaboo so they don’t lie stereotypically flat. If you’re unsure, just ask your health visitor to check your babies position in it. But generally need to be really stable with good head control etc xx
