Worried - Baby hunger

My baby is 6 weeks old and I'm not sure if she's eating enough? I can see that on the formula tub it says that for her weight and age she should be eating around 5oz (150ml) but she doesn't most of the times? Sometimes she'll eat 120ml and sometimes 60ml and almost always falls asleep while feeding. I'm worried she's not getting enough! She's not just formula fed, she mostly drinks expressed milk so it gets me frustrated when she doesn't drink half of it at times as pumping milk takes effort and time 😭

The tub is an indicator but shouldn't be gospel. Paeds use the following calculation: Weight in kg x 150ml = total for the day 4kg x 150ml = 600ml for the day If feeding 8 times a day that would be 75ml per feed If she has enough wet and dirty nappies (6+ and 2+ respectively) is content between feeds and is developing (starting to smile, smoother limb movement etc) you're good

@Emma Lots of wet nappies, not much in terms of dirty ones. Mainly wet farts lol She doesn't poop daily, sometimes every 2 or 3 days but isn't constipated I think as she passes a lot of gas? I worry because when she was born she was 4.6kg and lost 11% of her weight in a week. She went back to 4.8kg in 2 weeks but she's looking a bit thinner lately

Our LO was 4.18kg, dropped 17% by day 5, back up to birth weight day 12 and just hit 4.8kg at 6week3 days - as long as she's gaining, has the nappies etc you should be good. Are you BF or formula? (Formula can make them constipated is my understanding)

My daughter was drinking between 4-6oz per feeding, sometimes she'd go to sleep but she'd guzzle the rest of what she left an hour later, she too doesn't poop every day, its every other day or sometimes 3 days but she never seems distressed just gassy too! Do what I did and every 3 days stand on the bathroom scales, then stand on it again holding her then tak away your original weight to keep track of her weight (make sure its on the same floor and both you and her are wearing the same clothing)

Talk to your healthcare visitor when they next come, they can weigh her and show you her growth chart, you should have a copy in her red book. As long as she is over birth weight you can feed on demand as you are doing. She should roughly follow a growth curve, I think I was told if he dropped down 2 lines then they would want him to be eating more x

Hey, my little one at 6 weeks was eating 120ml formula and 90 BM. I express for her still and I understand your frustration:( try to make the bottle the same amount throughout the day, for example now we have 6 bottles 130ml each but she will leave 10, 20 ml now and then. BM composition is different then formula that is why they are fine with less and it can also differ from bottle to bottle based on the time you express xx

My LG is 11 weeks old and still only drinks between 3/4oz a time sometimes only 1oz then falls asleep, she's gaining weight at a steady line she's 10lb.11oz she was 10lb.1oz 2 weeks ago ( weighed every 2 weeks )my LG also doesn't poop much more wet farts and only does a proper poo every couple days ( she's on lactoulose ) ... aslong as little one is following a steady growth line they that's fine x

My boy was the same we changed the teat size on the bottles and he was much better.
