Sleep issues

LO is refusing to sleep at reasonable times (currently still trying to get him to bed). We have a 5 week old baby and sleep has been a big issue in the last 2 weeks. He skips naps on some days but will still go to sleep at 10pm. I am so sleep deprived and looking to find a way to resolve this. Does anyone have advice?

Could it be the adjustment to the. Ew baby ? Feel like his missing out etc . Hopefully it settles down xxx

That’s most likely it. He does sleep faster when it’s mummy doing bedtime. Makes me feel bad for my husband

Bless you don’t feel bad - remember it’s not a phase and it won’t last forever - can you encourage him to self settle so if you may him down you can leave the room get on with your evening . It was a total game changer for us - we did the chair method which was great but we never actually got to the leaving his room stage as we would sit for 5 mins he would be asleep and we didn’t wanna upset something working - then a few nights he took like 1 hour and one night I just got bored and said night night after 30 mins expecting him to kick off but he didn’t . Now we just saying night night be right back to check on you and he goes to sleep . Equally if he wakes in the night we used to sometimes be in his room 3 hours - now it’s completely rare he wakes but if he does we pop in for a quick cuddle / comfort and we lay him down to go back to sleep. Good luck - I can imagine you’re shattered, but sounds like you’re doing fab
