New mattress?

I've seen it suggested to buy a new mattress for each baby when reusing your side sleeper/ crib for baby 2,3 etc. Just wondering who has followed this guidance?

Basically it needs to be firm so if it's still really firm keep it but if it's got soft, replace

Replaced all of them when second baby arrived

I didn’t replace mine, but we moved my daughter into her own room before 6 months and given I knew the history of it because we got it brand new I felt fine reusing it

All except the travel cot one as 2nd baby hasn’t used it much

I didn't replace mine my first baby was a teensy guy my next baby could roll over and push up in a week and was ginormous I figured he'd be fine and he was the mattress was barely used by my first son I spent so much time holding him because he wasn't full term and his poor tummy hurt and it was freezing his life started during a blizzard I just held him close to me and got no sleep for months until I could see he was stronger

Thanks all, will have to get side sleeper out and check the mattress 😊

I replaced the Moses basket mattress because it had been stored in the loft and I wasn’t 100% sure it hadn’t got damp. But I didn’t replace the cotbed one because that just got moved from one room to another!

i did. waste of money considering she's refused to sleep on it😅
