Yeah, I was going to say what you said - be prepared for it to be a long drawn out process. But, at the same time, there will probably come a moment when everything will speed up all of a sudden and you won't feel ready. It's a real exercise in not having any control!
Eat a good meal! I got given a jacket potato because it was extra at 12ish but then it happened that fast and was that painful that I could eat once I was in labour!
I think being prepared for a long wait is a good shout, then you’ll not be disappointed if it ends up being quicker. I took my own pillow last time. Game changer for getting some proper sleep as theirs are always so naff.
Definitely take your own pillow as mentioned above. We took lots of snacks, card games, tablets etc. But tbf I did a lot of bouncing on the ball and walking around to try get things moving and then napped and watched TV on my tablet. I also took a water spray to try keep fresh as the hospital rooms are so hot!
Enjoy being looked after and fed in the hospital and not worrying about things at home. I had a four day stint on maternity ward for high blood pressure so I feel kind of prepared for the waiting around Take a tablet or device you can watch Netflix on and take the time to get some rest and boost the oxytocin. Good luck, I’m booked in for next Friday :)
