Can teething cause a cough?
My 5 month old has every symptom of teething including a sore bum, excess saliva and rubbing on his ear.
This morning he had started with a dry cough, is this normal?

Teething can irritate their throat as the excessive drool can dry it out. We are having the same issue, he has a cough and a hoarse voice, went to the docs and they are sure it’s teething
@Lauren that’s exactly what he is like. I’m slightly worried as he was quite sick earlier but hoping it was the fact he’d just had a bottle and then shoved a teething toy in his mouth😢 they know how to worry us
As long as he is doesn’t have a temp, is feeding and has plenty of wet and dirty nappies I wouldn’t worry too much

It won't cause a cough itself but if they're putting their hands in their mouth a lot more then potentially have picked something up from that
