Teething

Can teething cause a cough? My 5 month old has every symptom of teething including a sore bum, excess saliva and rubbing on his ear. This morning he had started with a dry cough, is this normal?

It won't cause a cough itself but if they're putting their hands in their mouth a lot more then potentially have picked something up from that

Teething can irritate their throat as the excessive drool can dry it out. We are having the same issue, he has a cough and a hoarse voice, went to the docs and they are sure it’s teething

@Lauren that’s exactly what he is like. I’m slightly worried as he was quite sick earlier but hoping it was the fact he’d just had a bottle and then shoved a teething toy in his mouth😢 they know how to worry us

As long as he is doesn’t have a temp, is feeding and has plenty of wet and dirty nappies I wouldn’t worry too much
