I was due to give birth at reading but gave birth in Oxford instead due to health reasons. I think it depends on staffing at reading x
I gave birth at Frimley and one thing to be aware of is they kicked partners out at 9pm and they weren’t allowed back in until 9am on the dot the next day, all the dads were waiting outside the ward and they didn’t even let them in 1 min early. I had a c-section at 5:19pm and he still had to go. Timings may have changed slightly since I gave birth in September but they are still not allowed to stay the night. I think they have a family room where partners can stay at Reading.
@Chelsea they’ve now changed the hours xx
@Jasmine oh that’s good to know, I think it was awful that they were so strict when I was there, it would put far less pressure on the midwives as partners could help overnight. I couldn’t even move when I had my c section so had to keep calling them to pick up my baby and change them. What time do they allow to now or has it been scrapped all together xx
I've no experience of Frimley Park, had both my boys at RBH and was very well looked after there.
RBH was great during delivery and immediately after, but overnight team were pretty useless and non-existent. Sometimes had to call the bell several times before someone came. But during the day time etc met some wonderful doctors and midwives so I think it’s swings and roundabouts depending who’s on shift!
I’ve had both my births at Frimley! More than welcome to message me xx
