Front sleeping

Baby will be 8 months next week and is really rolly during the day, front to back and back to front. Tonight for the first time when falling asleep she has rolled onto her front. I'm so nervous, she's never done this before and she seems comfortable enough and obviously I know she can roll perfectly fine during the day but I'm so nervous about her sleeping on her front. Do we think it's okay to just leave her to it? Is anyone else intervening and rolling their babies or just leaving them to it?

Mine is 8.5 months and has started sleeping on her front. I was a bit nervy to start but honestly they are bigger now and I'm a believer in babies doing what they need to do. Might take a bit of time for you to get used to it but just ease yourself into it :)

It's fine to leave them once they can roll independently...my LB has been a front sleeper for months, won't sleep any other way

Both of my boys sleep on their front and did from about 4.5 months when they started to roll. As long as you know they can turn themselves back I think it’s fine and my first son used to stir and get upset when he couldn’t roll back on his back anyway. They are so much more alert and stronger at 8 months and have survival instincts. It will take some getting used to I’m sure! 😊 I still stare at the cameras! X

My little boy has slept On front for 4 months! Think most do once they can roll x

The first night my boy went into his cot he basically face planted the mattress and I was so worried I kept moving him. And he kept moving back. Now a month later I just leave him to it- he’s very happy on his tummy. I have the monitor and check he’s ok regularly but he’s slept so much better than ever before. He can roll front to back and back to front too and I make sure he keeps practicing that so he doesn’t get stuck - he always shouts me if he does though 😂
