EBF baby. Tips for taking a bottle

Hey, so my daughter we’ll be 4 months on Sunday. I’m meant to be going to my friends for a spa day/night over in June and she screams and refuses to take my milk from a bottle if I’m not around. I’m also going to a wedding in September which I know is a few months away but am meant to be staying away for two nights (no kids wedding). I just wanted to ask for any advice. My son took to the bottle alongside when I breastfed him. I do have one I idea of what I might have to do. But thought I’d ask. Thanks

Especially in September she may be ok with a sippy cup. Both my kids were EBF and I never used a bottle. Just a sippy cup from 8 months old with my daughter and a bit older with my son.

@Elsa how much n how many times you give milk then?

@Irum my daughter is now 11 months old and is now combi fed. She has breastmilk when she wakes up at 7 and formula in the early afternoon. About 200 ml. Generally a paediatrician had told me 4 times a day from 6 months, 3 from 8, and 2 from 10 but I guess it also depends on how well they eat. Now that she is turning 1 I ll switch to cows milk. x

Took me 2 months to get my boy to drink from a bottle. We tried so many different combinations of bottle, teat and formula (I couldn’t pump, but bf fine!). Basically lots of trial and error until we found what worked.

@Elsa thankyou so much helped me alot

@Irum let me know if you need anything else! 🙂

When my daughter went through a bottle refusal stage we started with syringe feeding the breastmilk. It’s slow and not practical for all feedings but if I was going to be gone during one feeding it worked. It also helped her start taking the bottle again as she realized she could get the same milk another way. Also have you tried different temperatures of milk in the bottle? We always tried warming it but it turned out my daughter preferred her bottle cold! Like right from the fridge cold. Haha
