@Umreen hopefully we can get some gd advice I am in the same boat with 7 week old here
I’ve just started potty training my little boy who is 3 in June, I’ve just been taking it easy not pressuring him. I have a potty in the lounge and in the bathroom so that when he sees it, it reminds him to use it. I will ask him every 1-2 hours if he needs to use it. I have also brought the carry potty so that when we go out he doesn’t forget to use it and I will just keep asking him if he needs it. I find that reminding him helps him to use it more. He’s been doing really well with it. Don’t pressure yourself and just keep reminding them you will get there quicker than you think ❤️
I've just recently got my 4-year-old potty trained. We kept the potty in view and kept asking every half an hr and kept pants on. When he had an accident, I would just praise him and not have ago as they are bound to happen. I just need to get night time training done xx
We tried in October and it didn't work he had no clue and he was getting stressed so we stopped however what we did keep up with was sitting him on the toilet on his "special seat" before bed for a wee. At first he hated it. We built up the praise and I made a sticker chart. He was hit and miss but a few weeks in and he did a wee every night before bed. We are on day 2 of training now and he's doing really well. No battles over sitting on the potty or toilet this time and he knows that feeling of doing one because he's recognised it from when he does one at night time.
@Gemma thank you we tried round then too and we stoped coz she was stressed and we stoped and re trying but some great advice thank you
@Charlotte thank you
@Abbie-mai thank you some gd advice
@Kate yes you don't want them having a negative view of it so it isn't worth stressing them out over it. We have had 4 wees and only one accident today. I've also created a prize pot for him to pick something out of when he fills his sticker chart. Literally went to one below and bought a load of toys and few chocolates as an incentive. He's very excited about a "Lazer" gun like one he used in the buzz ride at Disney last week so at the moment he's 1 sticker away from getting all 8 to get it. We plan to make the chart longer the more he goes on. We also got a timer off Amazon that he uses to see when we are next going to try on the toilet/potty.
Yes definitely not negative thank you more great advice for making it’s positive
I trained my 2 1/2 year old when my 2nd was 3 weeks old. We’ve had the potty out and talked about it daily from about 18months. My toddler decided he wanted to wear his big boy pants so we went with it I think he saw the baby in nappies and thought they weren’t for him anymore 🤣 Everyone warned me about how difficult it might be training and having a newborn but I found it to be great timing my newborn was still in his sleepy stage so apart from feeding and changing he was asleep. And we weren’t leaving the house much helped more cause it was January my toddler was also loving all the praise and attention that he had been craving a little. We found a baby shark toilet training sticker chart went completely nappy free had lots of accidents in morning. Come the afternoon I gave him a bottle of juice and lots of grapes half hour later placed him on the potty he did his first wee on there and he was so excited haven’t looked back since!
@Tanya my daughter is 3 in June and I have 7 week old . So far potty training not going well at all . She doesn’t seem to be getting it’s but she getting to big for nappies now. As they leaking more often now and having change a lot . Hopeful it’s will click soon
My son potty trained when he was 2 years 5 months but in general he was excited to use the potty and use his ‘big boy pants’ which he chose (paw patrol and dinosaur ones!” Nursery i think played a part as he saw his friends using the toilet as one day he actually just woke up and asked to wear pants and not his nappy. We did offer some rewards (chocolate button) each time he went for a wee and just reminded home every 30 minds for the first 2 weeks which seemed to help xx
@Sarah thank you Sarah hopefully we will master it soon
Following because i need the same advice, im due in August and pregnancy is not helping. My LG will sit on the toilet but only if i prompt it but she wont do anything, she wont even ask to go before she does a wee or poo so she does it all in the nappy. I feel like I’m getting no where.
