Any ideas?

Has anyone got any ideas what we can do in this scenario? I'm due to be induced on Sunday, and I know it can take anywhere from 1 to 5 days. I'm already upset that I have to be induced and don't want to labour and birth alone. Me and my partner did a test during the night where I rang him when I went to the toilet just in case I go into active labour overnight (our hospital won't allow overnight stays) and he didn't stir. Gave him 3 calls and watched from the door and he was just gone like a light. Now I'm stressing that he won't wake on the night of delivery, assuming I go into active labour overnight.

Get him to change his ringtone, he will be used to his current one and hearing a different noise may trigger him to wake up to something unfamiliar, I always change my alarm sound before a holiday as it wakes me up cause it’s not a sound I’m used to hearing. I hope this helps x

Are you sure they won’t let your partner stay overnight in labour suite? Mine don’t allow on the ward but once you’re in for induction I was put straight into labour suite x

@Natalie thank you! Unfortunately he did actually change it but still was absolutely knocked out! We're gonna try a different one tonight 🤞 hopefully something annoying!

The more annoying the better! Best of luck!x

@Naomi According to what I've read for my hospital they don't have the facilities, but I think that was on the postnatal ward as opposed to the delivery suite. Thanks for mentioning as it might be different for the delivery suite. Are you typically in delivery for the duration of your induction or do we get moved about?

I went straight to delivery suite for my induction! Every health board may be different, but husband was able to come in and stay with me until I went to postnatal ward that night x

@Naomi We did another test last night with probably the most obnoxious ringtone we could find and thankfully he woke this time so feeling a little more relaxed about it. I'll definitely ask how long he can be expected to stay. I think my hospital has an induction bay but not sure if it's private so I'm expecting he will have to go home at 9:30 if I haven't progressed into labour by then, which I'm expecting will take me a while as its my first and my cervix is still quite unfavourable atm. We've looked at other options such as him sleeping in the car, etc. But thanks for mentioning as I'll be able to ask them now ☺️
