Developmental delays

My son is 11 months old and has been seen by a development worker. She said he scored low in every section and has referred him to a speech therapist, physio therapist, and occupational therapist. He doesn’t roll over, sit without help, respond to his name, barely looks at you, and won’t eat solids except yogurt. I had anyone else experienced this? Did they grow out of it or did they get a diagnosis? I was told right now they are classifying him as having global development delay and he’s going through testing to see if they can find a reason to it.

Sorry to hear this 😞 As mum to a little boy with a disability I and global development delay I empathise with you. Has he had an MRI scan? X

@Loren so far just blood test. I should be getting results next week. They only just started looking into it. Doctors kept telling me it’s fine till recently.

@Michaela blood tests are a good start 👍🏼 if they come back normal then push for an MRI if you can. I’m glad you’ve been referred to PT, OT and ST. We do PT twice a week and it really helps!

My son has global development delay and he’s 10 years old

@Loren how old your son now? Like did he grow out of it? Just hate not knowing what’s going on or what to expect

@stacey he had since birth? Did they ever find a cause?

@Michaela he’s 17 months. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 7 months old after getting an MRI done because he wasn’t reaching milestones. He can now roll both ways and is attempting to crawl thanks to physio.

Hey, my son is the same he is now 19 months and got told he has global developmental delay, chiari 1 malformation, hyper mobility and possibly autism (been referred for assessment) but they also had considered he may have cerebal palsy as my brother does but ruled out for now. They should do and MRI and bloods for your son

@Nicole we are getting blood tests done and have follow up for that next week and see what doctor says
