Contact your insurance Mine said when I could safely do an emergency stop I didn’t need to wait 6 weeks
I drove at 4 weeks PP, I was told as soon as you feel comfortable to do an emergency stop, you can drive. Do check with your insurance as some company’s have clauses where you won’t be covered, but I spoke with my insurance and they were fine with it 😊
Speak to GP first and let them know you feel fine so you have a record of the interaction, then contact your insurance and check their policy on it. My GP said if I felt fine and my insurance will cover me to go for it as long as I could do an emergency stop, and my insurance said the same thing. I went round the block and did two emergency stops to be sure and feel fine so I’ll be driving now. I’m 5wks pp but felt fine since about 4wks pp
My insurance also said I could drive whenever after as long as I can emergency stop so contact them as it's insurer specific
Thank you all :)
6 weeks. If you are driving and crashed the seatbelt could rupture your scar. And insurance won’t cover any compensation for that if you are driving before 6 weeks
I felt absolutely fine after 2 weeks but waited until 3 weeks, I had an elective c-section and recovery was 1000x easier than my first c-section which was an emergency. One week after my c-section I was off pain relief and walking my toddler to the park every day! First pregnancy I drove after 5 weeks
I'm 6 weeks post c section tomorrow and I'll be driving tomorrow! Legally you have to wait 6 weeks to let your body heal. If you get into a accident before 6 weeks, your car insurance won't cover you!
