Tantrums/clinginess

Hey my 15 month old boy is being a right handful at the moment, he’s crying if he doesn’t get his own way wants to be held all the time and can’t bare if I’m just gone for even a second he only wants to play when he’s sitting on me and I have to be close by. If I’m washing up he’s hovering around my legs wining and just wants to be picked up. Is anyone else going through similar situation? And give any tips on how to handle this??

Yep! Exactly the same, and he’s unbelievably needy at the minute too. I’m sure it’s just a phase (hopefully 😂)

Yesssssss and the pointing! The pointing was cute at first but now she is pointing and demanding something every 30 seconds along with an inpatient “aaaah! Ah! Aah!!”

So hoping this is a phase only and it will go away soooo quickly!!!!

I had about 3 weeks of this it was so hard. Nursery drop off went back to hell and he didn't even want to sit with dad had to be me. Then literally 1 day he just snapped back to his usual self! He was cutting his 13th/14th teeth and finally got the confidence to walk by himself rather than holding hands so not sure if that was the switch and he was just frustrated before or if it was just a coincidence 🤔

Yeah, they be doing that at this age. Mine climbs in between me and my other kids if they’re with me cause jealous. He cries every time I leave the room and he’s not interested in his dad at all. They develop a deeper separation anxiety at this age but it passes when they realise you’re always coming back.

Thank god!! Can’t wait for this phase to be over it’s like just when you think things are settled something else happens 😩

I could have written this post myself! My mum is always saying that he’s always with me, he’s too attached 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I just think it’s natural, it’s a phase. I just try to include him in what I’m doing but it’s not always possible. I have a small business and I’ve actually had to make bags with him sitting on my lap because!!! My desk is literally in the play area!!!!! 😭

@Christina omg yes!!! the pointing!! and mine’s always “MAAAA” “MAAAA” He’s 15 months old and I’m already like “I’m cominggggg” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It’s funny though, their attitude is insaneee🤣

Mine is doing this as well! And BITING !!

We’ve really been struggling at the moment as our 15 month old seems clingier than ever at the moment! She used to sleep through the night and now she’s waking up hourly or she wakes up and won’t go down for 3 hours again. This weekend my husband has had to sleep with her downstairs as she just isn’t settling. She’s very emotional in the day time, the slightest thing will cause a huge tantrum (screaming the house down😳) and she’s the same where if we put her down (awake or asleep) she’s immediately crying wanting to be up again. It’s reassuring to hear we’re not the only ones going through it as I’ve been overthinking everything worrying we’re doing something wrong.

Hey @Leah my LO has been the same getting up at night and staying awake for 2 hrs it’s been a right nightmare the split nights, tantrums and being clingy has been really challenging

@Pam It’s so exhausting isn’t it. My little girl has been like this for way over a month now, I’m praying she stops soon😂 whenever she gets sleep regressions like this / behavioural changes it always lasts over a month for us for some reason. It was so hard during that first year as there were constant leaps and sleep regressions every other month.. by the time she got over the previous one she’d be going through another. I’m so tired and so mentally drained at the moment

@Leah it sure is exhausting. My boys been like this for a few weeks, and he’s the same every regression hits him hard with his sleep, after the 8/9/10 month regression it’s been so up and down we just haven’t been able to get into a routine, he’s sleep has been all over the place and sleep deprivation is hard!!! Let’s hope this doesn’t last long and we can both finally get some sleep and do things without tears 🙏🏼x
