Exclusively nursing moms

My baby is sleeping 5-6 hours at the start of the night (very lucky I know (also know it most likely won’t last)) should I be pumping during this time to stop any drop in my supply? Any of you in the same boat? Baby feeds every 2-3 hours apart from that one chunk If you do pump, best affordable pump?

I always wake up to pump if my babe has slept more than 4 hours, just as I feel full and I also don’t want a drop in supply. I have a medela swing which is good, and also a bellababy from Amazon which in my opinion is better value than the medela swing. I have these from when I breastfed my daughter but I am looking to get a hands free pump now as I sometimes pump during the day and I’ve got no time to sit there holding the pump in my hand or be sat next to a power socket multiple times a day!

I'm exclusively breastfeeding feeding my 4 week old. He sometime does a 5-6 hour sleep stint durimg the night but I don't wake up to pump. He usually wakes up and has a longer than usual feed when he sleeps that long (spread over both breasts). I haven't noticed a drop in supply x

It depends if they reliably sleep 5-6 hours and it’s the same time every night. If it’s predictable (say baby ALWAYS sleeps 10pm -4am) you might choose to not pump and your body will know to not make milk for that time as you don’t need it- however, depending on if you’ve established your supply or not you might choose to wake in the night to make sure you establish that supply, in which case I’d probably recommend you wake up between 12-4am which is when your prolactin is highest so is best for your supply I have the medela swing maxi which I like, it’s a good primary pump because it has an external motor but I have the wearable cups so I can wear the motor on a lanyard and use it hands free
