@Victoria I thought of the IUD but I got scared after seeing a lot of comments stating that it hurt .
Look up natural family planning like natural cycles or the daysy! I've used both and it's great. No side effects, haha
I’ve taken the Xulane patch—generic brand of this is Zafemy which I hear is way worse. The only side effects I’ve experienced is headaches during the patch-off week (when you should get a period), inability to lose more weight, and high cholesterol levels—all typical side effects of birth control. For me, it was the least suckiest option (due to my dislike of birth control and its many side effects). Didn’t like the pill, it made me suicidal. Wasn’t getting a foreign object lodged into my body, so the patch was the best option for me. If I decide to stop taking it, I can just rip the patch off, easy peasy. The only patches I know that exist are Xulane, Zafemy, and Twirla. If you choose Xulane, make sure your doctor specifies on the prescription to prescribe Xulane. For some reason pharmacies will prescribe Zafemy instead, since it’s cheaper to supply I guess? Experimenting with birth control is different for every woman. Some do fine, others don’t. Hope this helps!
Try a copper IUD. No side effects (but obvis you still get your period)
I just got a copper iud (about 3 weeks ago). Per my research I was prepared for it to hurt when placed and to probably have period cramps. But nothing, it didn’t hurt at all when the put it in and I just had my period and it wasn’t heavy plus I had 0 cramps. 🤷🏻♀️
I was on Nextstellis the pill and it caused me to have a stroke. Thankfully after so many tests it didn’t damage anything.
@Katt Thank god you’re okay!
I had the shot when I was on birth control. I think it’s called kyleena? It lasts for 3 months. No issues. :) no longer on birth control bc I haven’t been sexually active since I got pregnant and honestly the deadbeat kind of ruined it for me…
I’ve never had the patch but I did have nexplanon and do not recommend it at all. I spot bled for 8 months straight with it. I switched to birth control pills and that worked better for me.
@Katt wowww a ginecologyst did prescribe me that one in 2023, and when i took around 4 tablets i started do get a strong headache and i told him about it, and he told me to stop use it 😱😱😱😱
Hey Akila! 👋🏽 I don’t have any personal experience with the patch! But, I got the Mirena IUD right after my first baby and had it for about 2.5 years. Honestly, I had no issues with it and loved not having a period since I used to have really bad ones. Everything seemed normal until I recently got it taken out, and wow, I felt like a whole new woman, lol! My mood was way better, and I didn’t feel as puffy. I did a ton of research and watched loads of TikToks to see what other women experienced.
