Toddler speech delay- should I be worried?

My son will be 2 next month and he only has a handful of words, including no, me, key, knee, tea, poo, moon and not much else to be honest. He maybe has 15 words maximum? He is healthy and otherwise hitting normal milestones. He is clearly very clever and he has a huge vocabulary in terms of what he understands but hardly says anything. I just googled what is normal for this age and it says 100+ words and putting short sentences together. It makes me feel a bit worried and sad. I know kids all develop differently and I previously haven’t been worrying as I know he’ll get there in his own time, but it’s just occurring to me now how severe this speech delay may be and that I might actually need to take him to see a speech therapist or something? I’ve no idea what to do or if our situation warrants something like that

My little boy's speech didn't start properly until after he was 2, which is quite normal.

My son was the same at his 2 year review but health visitor wasn't concerned because she could see for herself how much he understood and followed things being said. 2 months later he has a huge collection of words and is starting to put them together. Just keep encouraging the words he does say even if they're not quite right and push him to use them and that understanding of words will soon turn to bossing you about and giving you attitude 🤣

Is he babbling? It may very well be he is saying more just not pronouncing it correctly, that’s what was happening with my son
