Leaving baby

When will you leave baby for the first time? Been asked to go out for the day but I’m unsure weather to go and leave my baby. I’m breastfeeding also so unsure how that will work. He will be 3 months. Would you do it?

Me and my partner went to the cinemas the other day we were gone 2 hours but we left our 5 week old and our toddler with his mum and sister at our house, it was actually quite relaxing and bonus is his mum cleaned up for us while we were gone! I’d still be nervous to leave her for longer than that though my little boy was around 5 months old before we left him for the first time. Although I don’t breastfeed

I'll be going on a hen do when baby is just over 3 months old. It's just a day thing, an hour by train or similar by car and I don't really drink so if I need to get back for any reason then it'll be no problem. I combi feed so that part is a little more straight forwards. It's one of my closest friends otherwise I'd probably give it a miss. I guess it depends what you're doing and where you're going. I left our oldest for two nights for my sister's hen do when he was a similar age and that was in Nottingham so a good couple of hours away. Because it was my sister I didn't want to not go. He was formula fed though and it was absolutely fine. Both occasions I've left/am leaving them with my husband though, I think it'd be a totally different if it was anyone else. We didn't leave our eldest with anyone else until he was just over one years old x

@Kirsty it’s just a day thing and I will probably drive, what did you in regrets breast milk? Do you have to pump during the day if so how often? X

Because I'm not solely breastfeeding I find I don't have to pump during a day out and am comfortable so I'm not much help in that department unfortunately. One of my friends breast fed only and when she met us for the day without baby she'd just express once around midday x
