CMPA? GERD? Sandifer syndrome?

Sorry long post, just a worried first time mum looking for advice or insight. Haven’t discussed some of these points yet with GP but will at appointment next week. Background: my baby is 7 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. I will cut out dairy from my diet to see if it has an effect. Baby did an unusual body movement that freaked us out last night, but it looked like a video I had seen that day of Sandifer syndrome. I looked into this and found lots of other symptoms my baby has are linked. I had been thinking that she has GERD or at least a mild version of it. But I am now wondering if she has CMPA and if that is part of the cause of everything?: She has: -Reflux (which I have read can cause Sandifer syndrome) -Poor weight gain, on 3rd percentile for weight (25th at birth) -Dirty nappies are quite smelly (not totally offensive but smellier than I think they are meant to be!). -Poo sometimes very runny and watery, poos are generally big and fill the nappy. -Spots on face and head that I originally thought was baby acne but now wonder if it’s a rash from CMPA. Quite red and they don’t seem to be very pimply, just bumpy and red. Spots are not anywhere else though? -Sometimes fussiness on the breast with unusual body and head movements, -And now this unusual movement that I am describing as Sandifer. Anyone have any experience of any of this?

hey, that sounds super stressful, I totally get it! tbh, it's great that you’re planning to chat with your GP about all this, and cutting out dairy might help you figure things out. I’ve heard some babies can have a tough time with dairy and it can affect their tummy, so you’re on the right track. just hang in there, mama! 💖 this is what the 'Heal App' mentioned… hope it helps! "It's completely understandable to feel worried as a first-time mom, especially with the concerns you've described. Given your baby's symptoms, it's good that you're planning to discuss these with your GP. 1. Cutting out dairy from your diet is a reasonable first step to see if it helps with any potential cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA) symptoms. Many babies with CMPA can show signs like fussiness, skin rashes, and gastrointestinal issues. 2. The unusual body movements and fussiness could indeed be related to reflux or Sandifer syndrome, which is often associated with GERD.

@Susan thanks so much, I appreciate your reply. Hopefully the GP will be able to help and symptoms will improve!!
