autism sleep schedule!

Okay so I’ve been trying to have my toddler on a decent sleep schedule, without any naps during the weekday since he’s in ABA center during the week. However, tonight he fell asleep at 7:20pm and now he’s up at 12:40am I know I gave him half melatonin, not sure if I should give him the other half so he can fall back asleep,? Any other autism mamas dealing wit the same?

It’s so hard, i deal with this everyday. Yesterday was the worst yet. Stayed up until 4am 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭

@Teresa ugh girl the struggle is real with sleep 😴 this week he didn’t have no sleep wake ups but tonight he did so now I just have to wait & see what time he will fall back asleep 😴

Mine wakes up in the middle of the night pretty often, but he just stays in his bed and reads his books, plays with his stuffed animals, sings and talks to himself until he gets tired and falls asleep again. If I open the door and interact with him, he gets SO wired and will start running around the house and act like it's daytime. What sometimes helps is using the intercom feature on our nursery camera to tell him to go to sleep, and that will make him lay down at least briefly. Somehow he still seems to get enough sleep to be Ok during the day and usually doesn't seem overtired. 🤷

Try to keep him awake until 9pm - 9:30 pm. That's what I do with my daughter, I give her melatonin around 8:45 pm and around 9 to 9:30 pm she's down. It's really working for us, she also doesn't have a nap during the day.
