I coslept with my first since she was a couple of weeks old xx
I coslept for the first two weeks while he was super tiny and have now started using his Love to Dream swaddle (I used it with my daughter too and it worked wonders). Used it with my baby for the first time last night and he slept 1:30 - 4:40am and then 5:30 - 8:00am whereas he would wake every hour or so in his next to me without it. They’re my most recommended item for anybody who is pregnant 🥲
I coslept with my first from 3 months, and now with my 2nd I’ve been doing it since day 1. I’m being careful with all the safe sleep guidance, but it’s letting me get so much more sleep than if I try to get him settled in the next to me.
Thanks everyone! This makes me feel better about going down this route if we need to. My boy is just so tiny it makes me uncomfortable and feels like a lot of pressure on me to keep him safe but feels like this is just what he wants and needs.
I think you do what you need to do to survive in this stage. With my oldest I coslept from the start because she wouldn't sleep anywhere else. My partner was back to work after 2 weeks and we all needed sleep. Made sure it was safe. It was around 7.5 weeks that she was happy to go into her next to me. With my current one, he still wants to be in my arms, but will eventually go into the moses basket. Not the next to me. I think he finds that too big. I also have him lying in his moses basket when I'm playing with the toddler. I can't have him in bed with me because toddler still comes into bed at some point in the night with us. She's 2.5 and rarely sleeps the night through. If you do want to try having him in a moses basket as I've found that to really help and we didn't have that with my first. X
