Advice please

My partner and I were in a glass lift with our baby, as it stopped our family were tapping on the other side of the glass. My 5 month old put her hand on the door just as it sprung open and it just nipped her fingers. She screamed for 15 minutes and then fell asleep. They don’t look swollen or bruised, they were slightly red but that’s come down now and she is using that hand and has stopped crying but looks sad. Would you still go to the hospital? I’m just concerned as she obviously can’t communicate anything and I feel awful🙁

If you want to put your mind at ease I would go to a&e or ring 111 for advice. But if she is using her hand and the swelling has gone and isn’t in any visible pain then I’m sure all is okay. Do what you feel is best, your her mama and you’re doing just fine, trust your instinct x

@Kim🌷 thank you, everyone I am with has said she’s fine and not to bother as she’s using it to pick her toys up and smiling now but I just feel so bad and hate that it happened

@Sophie I know exactly how you feel, I have a 5 week old and after an incident the other day I was so worried about him but he was fine less than a minute after. Didn’t stop me worrying though but babies are resilient and will bounce back very quickly x

@Kim🌷 I would say go to A & E but 111 is not useful in this case as they cannot see the fingers to assess them.
