Switching from sertraline to citalopram

Has anyone done this and what was your experience like? Back story of me - been on sertraline for 2 years and been on 100mg since December 23 but the dose is too high now I think I’m struggling to feel any emotion. And absolutely no up and go about me. Been told to take 50mg of sertraline and then 20mg of citalopram to wean into them. I’m hoping if nothing else, being on a lower dose of an SSRI will help bring back some of “me” because I hate feeling this way and when I stop for a few days I’m having *TW* suicidal thoughts which is absolutely not what I want!!

Citalopram saved my mental health, sertraline did nothing for me. Trust the process !!

Changing to citalopram was the best decision ever for me. Sertraline had me feeling like a zombie and while it helped with the s thoughts it didn’t with anything else. With citalopram I just feel like a normal human who can manage my emotions within a good range :)

Nope. Nope. The only “good” thing that came from it, was being hospitalized to come off of it. It was hell. Only to find out from that experience, I can never take an SSRI or an SNRI. (This was in November of last year).

Everyone is different I’ve been on both of this medication. Sertraline I couldn’t sleep on and I was exhausted from it. With Citalopram I had the worst nightmares to the point it was on my mind all day but I know people it works wonders for, you just have to try
