Yes you can. I was asked at my 36 appointment with the consultant
Yes, you can and I have done mine lately after had 2 children. Doctor asked me if I wanted to get it done and I made my decision at the last appointment with my midwife. She get the form done for me. When I get in to the hospital for c section date double confirm and more paper work before c section.
I’m US based - I had my tubed removed when I had my last C-section. It was pretty easy to schedule
I’m uk based and my section is booked for 23rd May. When scheduling I asked if I could have my tubes cut at the same time and it’s no problem at all and they have scheduled them in. May as well do it whilst they are already in there. They will go through the risks etc and then you opt in with the section forms x
Thank you for asking this question. It's the first thing I thought of when I found out I was pregnant. My question would be : Does it affect the recovery time?
@Chantelle apparently not noticeably. I have a few more questions like how much longer is the surgery and impact on skin on skin but will be asking in my pre-opt appointment
@Emily Please post on here when you have more information! (If you remember haha) It's really helpful
I had my c-section on the 15th and was sterilised at the same time. The procedure was only slightly longer but not by much, I was still offered skin to skin etc because it’s all done “while they are in there”. Although I haven’t had a section before recovery doesn’t seem any worse than I was expecting from just a section alone but everyone is different 😊 x
You can choose to have your tubes tied during an elective C-section — that’s what I did myself 2 & done 😮💨
