Waking in the night

My 14 month old is still waking in the night most nights. Sometimes he sleeps through, so I know he can do it. I know it can be normal but the issue is he’s up for 2 - 3 hours at a time and working 4 days a week , I’m really struggling and my husband is also working a stressful job and is drained. He also still needs a whole bottle of milk when he wakes which I’m worried isn’t good for his teeth and is affecting his daytime appetite. We’ve done Ferber which has improved things as we’re now on 1 wake instead of 3 but it’s just when he wakes he’s up for hours. Has anyone experienced similar? wouldn’t mind wakes if they weren’t so long. We’re on 1 nap a day of 2ish hours.

If it helps we had this for a few weeks and he is now sleeping through again - so hope the same for you x

My daughters the same and we even used a sleep coach. I would consider 1 wake a really good night! She is similar in that she wakes up hungry for a feed as she eats like a little sparrow during the day so that’s obviously a big part to play in it. She does tend to go back to sleep fairly easy as long as you get to her quickly. Me and my partner both work full time so we just try and take it in turns around who has an ‘easier’ day the next day. We have tried everything so just hoping she will grow out of it when she starts eating more. I have heard other mums says their babies wake up and are up for hours in the night just messing about so don’t worry your not alone.

Remember waking in the night is super normal at this age! I appreciate being up for 2-3hrs isn’t as normal, maybe look at daytime sleep? My daughter wakes a few times, we bedshare and bf so she settles quickly with a boob in her mouth and I don’t mind this! So it works for us :)
