Car Seat- Drivers or Passenger Side?

Petite first time mom here, do you put your car seat behind you or on the passenger side? I keep being told it’s ‘supposed to be’ passenger side so you can reach them but there’s no way I could reach. I’d think it’d be easier to unpack the car with him on the same side. Thoughts?

I am considered petite as well and I can say it’s easier to have them on the opposite side of you so you can reach better if they drop something or just crying for whatever reason.

Wherever it fits the best 😂 In all seriousness, I like baby being on the drivers side because then I don’t have to walk around the car. But I’ve done both!

They say the safest place to put a carseat is in the middle seat! Probably would also be easier to reach them too! But it'd probably be a preference on what side you want to do!

Wherever you can get a safe instal.

they say it's safest in the middle just in case you get in a car accident and someone hits one of the sides.

If you just have one baby then, the safest is the middle seat but I will also consider the passenger side as second safest spot because if you ever have to parallel park your car then you don't get your baby out on the street side.

I’m doing passenger side. Easier for me to reach around to baby in case she needs something and I always parallel park since my parking space is next to a sidewalk at home (gives more room for me to take baby out vs next to a parked car). And I naturally look to the back passenger side at the rearview mirror. But it’s really what you’re comfortable with doing. Either side can work.

We have captains chairs in our middle row so I am doing behind the driver. That’s where my 4yo was until he forward faced then he got moved behind the passenger so I could see him better. It was far easier to not have to walk around the car to get him in/out especially if it’s raining. I wouldn’t be able to reach or do anything productive while driving anyway.

Middle seat was what they told us at the hospital

It only make sense to put it on the passenger side

I ended up doing passenger since it doesn’t fit well behind driver if my husband is driving. And it’s safer to remove the baby if ever you’re in a place with a lot of traffic

Passenger side bc it gives you room to move your seat in order to reach them. You also have a better view of them from your mirror or if you turn around to look at them. It it were behind you, you would literally have to pull over for everything. God forbid they choke or something, you wouldn’t know until you pulled over and saw them.

My second which is this new bby is behind me so I’ll need a digital camera to see her and my toddler is passenger with a mirror

Middle seat sounds ideal though but with my first i liked having that long space on one side for changes! Also my toddler might put sitting in middle carseat being next to it smhhhh
