Maternity Unit

Hey everyone! I've just done a test trip to the new 'Beach Building' to try and find my bearings before I need too but I must be extremely thick because I could not find the signage at all 😅 The way it's been described to me is that it's an entirely new, seperate building, dedicated to maternity with it's own signposting and drop off points but after three trips around the hospital I didn't see any beach building, or entrance other than the main hospital entrance? 🙈 For context, I live 8 minutes away from Poole and I barely made it there when I had my girls so now having a 23 minute trip to the hospital I need to know exactly where to go before hand incase I walk in holding him 🤣🫠

As you pull into the hospital on the first left, driving round to car park C you drive past it, massive big building that looks brand new compared to the rest, it’s all in there!

@Hannah the one that just says main entrance? We thought so but the way it was explained to me was it was entirely it's own building haha! Thanks chick x

@Ellis I think so! It’s all glass and has ‘royal Bournemouth hospital’ in big white letters on it! I had to go there for a glucose test last week and took about 10 mins to walk there from the car park🤣 all antenatal stuff is 1st floor x

Signage inside is also very limited! Not sure if they are due to be put up but me and my husband also struggled at my 20 week scan. There are also 2 lots of lifts, one for patients and one for staff!

Sorry to jump on this post - have an appointment at the new building and also never been there (thanks for posting!) How is the parking? X

@Charlotte I always park in the village and grab a Starbucks before hand! It’s 4 hours free parking!

@Charlotte I parked in car park C as it’s slightly closer than by the multi-storey and walked round the outside rather than through the building! My appointment was 9am on a Saturday so wasn’t too bad but I can imagine it’s busier on weekdays! X
