@Naomi haha that’s very true! 😂😂
@Naomi is correct - most stuff you can totally order as you go. Generally speaking as long as you have some newborn clothes, nappies/wet wipes/nappy cream/muslins, a car seat, a buggy and/or sling and a safe place for them to sleep you’ll be fine until anything else arrives. In terms of clothes around 10 of each size is normally ok. Sleep suits are all you actually need to have them in for first few months so don’t worry about fancy outfits unless they are exciting for you. I would try have some options for the until 3m and then buy as you go. You might find that you prefer a particular brand that fits your baby best or style (zips over poppers for example) so don’t over invest. H&M, M&S and Next all have good stuff. If you know you will be mixed or bottle feeding it’s good to have a few bottles and a steriliser. If you know you’re having a c section then a changing table is useful as bending is a problem for a bit. Otherwise just a changing matt is ok.
@Francis thank you so much! All that information helps. First time mummy, so I’m just a bit scared and probably overthinking everything. But I just want to make sure we are prepared and we’ve got everything we need for our little one’s arrival. Thank you x
If you’re worried about anything you can also make wish lists on most websites, you could just make some wish lists so you can easily find stuff if you do want it later. You’ve got this! 💪🏼
I would recommend the Love to Dream swaddles and they can take a while to come so would defo get a couple of those! You can also get second hand ones on Vinted xx
Maybe get some formula if you're planning to breastfeed in case your little one doesn't take to it. Don't bother purchasing a changing table as such we stuck a changing mat to the top of a chest of drawers and just keep everything to hand in the top drawer.
Don’t stress too much. We live in a time of Amazon prime! You will be ordering random things at 3am to arrive at 9am for the next few months.
