Concern about CMPA

What symptoms did everyone’s babies have what got them diagnosed as having CMPA? Were the symptoms really obvious like rashes, sick, green poo or was anyone’s less obvious and referred to as colic/reflux to begin with? Bit of a random one but also is it normal for babies poo to smell like vinegar or could it be linked to a possible allergy?

My son didn’t get diagnosed until he was 6 months because his symptoms were milder. He had small patches of dry skin, mucousy poo, eventually he had specks of blood in his poo… and that’s about it 😂 had go take out dairy and soya from my diet and he’s not had blood or mucous since then. Also the vinegar smell is supposedly something that happens around teething but it’s not happened for my son and he has two teeth now 🤷🏼‍♀️

Following for vinegar smell especially

We’re currently going through diagnosis at the moment for my little boy, he’s four months old. His symptoms have only just got to a point where it’s all pointing in that direction but until this stage it’s been relatively mild and quite easy to miss. He’s had rashes on and off, but put them down to heat rash/bath products initially, quite severe cradle cap, dry skin, eczema, and then finally mucous poo which I initially thought was due to him having cough syrup and calpol when he had bronchiolitis! They’ve slowly built up over the last few months but nothing immediate like colic or more reflix, he’s actually a very contented baby. He’s a twin so I think as a first time mum I probably still wouldn’t have twigged without having a direct comparison for a little longer but once we went to the GP they were very quick to agree and prescribe him a trial of dairy free formula!

My little boy didn’t get diagnosed till he was around 3/4 months, mucus in his poo but no blood, severe reflux, around 2 months he started refusing bottles even though he was hungry and when he did take a bottle he was projectile vomiting after all of them up sometimes right after and sometimes up to an hour later and eczema

Sorry to jump on another post but I’m wondering what danger there is if a baby shows only very mild symptoms? I’m wondering if it’s worth it for my boy as he has awful poos but otherwise very content too

My baby only had terrible nappies to start with, but only once a day for a really long time. Once he hit around 3months old (symptoms start to really show around this age), because of the dairy buildup in his system he got full body eczema literally overnight, terrible trapped wind, mucus nappies, reflux got quite bad, blood started appearing in his nappies and diarrhoea after every bottle. So if you have any concerns, go to the doctors before it gets worse! Dairy buildup is really tough once they have it, and can take 6-8weeks to fully leave their systems x
