C sections and driving

When did people start driving again after there c section? I know it’s recommending 6 weeks but I’m 5 weeks 4 days and have no family around me and getting cabin fever 🙈🙈

I felt okay at 5 weeks so I started driving, as long as you can put your foot on the pedals without any pain I think you can drive ☺️ driving was fine but getting the pram in and out of the car wasn’t easy x

It’s not ‘recommended’ your insurance is invalid for 6 weeks

Had to after about 4 weeks as my partner went back to work and I had to take my girl to nursery x

Check your insurance. Most don’t have any stipulations about it 🙂 Think I was driving after about four weeks. Just try a little lap and see how you feel

@Gee that actually depends on the insurance. Most will say check with your dr for the all clear.

My insurance was not invalid by driving early. I started at 3 weeks pp just short journeys to the shop.

If you feel OK to drive ide drop your insurers a call just to double check if your covered every insurer is different mine I felt OK by 5.5 weeks to drive but I called an they told me because it was advised by a doctor not to drive I wouldn't be insured in that 6 week space.

I'm surprised by these comments, both my c-sections I was told by my OB no driving for just 2 weeks only. Was told 6 weeks wait time is for sex, baths, & working out.

@Gee that's not true for all insurance. My own had no timeframe as long as I was cleared from my doctor & could perform an emergency stop.

I started driving 2 weeks pp.

It’s a myth about the insurance not allowing you to drive for 6 weeks. I called mine to be sure 😂 I drove for the first time 2 weeks after my section and now at 3 weeks PP I feel fine driving. It’s whenever you feel strong enough and ready. Xx

I was 2 weeks PP

2 weeks

Like a week after 😅 Once I stopped my pain medications I took myself on a little shopping trip 😂

I got the okay to drive after my stitches were removed and i wasn’t on pain meds anymore. If I had to wait 6 weeks to drive oh I would’ve definitely gone crazy. I was driving I wanna say by 3 weeks PP. no issues or concerns first time I drove. Just was weird driving again after being driven around and atuff

I drove the supermarket and doctors after 4 weeks and was fine I wouldn’t recommend any long journeys though x

I was taking baby driving 2 weeks pp from am emergency C-section but lifting the car seat in and out popped stitches and caused minor infection

My doctor gave me the all clear to drive again after 2 weeks.

With my first, I think like 3-4 weeks 🤔 with my second, like a week lol.

Honestly I had to drive like 5 or 6 days after. We had a well-baby check and Im a single mom that lives alone so didn’t have much of a choice 🤷🏻‍♀️

I done everything within the first week after , drove, worked out, sex , it literally depends on how you feel, you know your body

I had to be signed off by my Dr before I could drive- that was with Admiral (I got signed off at 4 weeks)
