Yep, I breastfed and had to go strictly no dairy (1 year) and no soy (6 mo) with my first, and at least 6 months now dairy with my second. Fingers crossed not again, so far so good this time. He gets pretty fussy with some poops, but it looks like typical breastfed poop. If you want to look up info, search for "Cow Milk Protein Intolerance" - it's not really an allergy (it doesn't cause respiratory issues, hives, etc) but an intolerance to the proteins in cow milk, which is also what differentiates it from lactose intolerance. It is also frequently referred to as cmpa though, so you'll see that as well. Goat milk is usually fine. So if you're formula feeding, many people find relief by switching to a goat milk based formula. I don't think there are very many and they're more expensive, but it exists. If breastfeeding, it's all about your diet and it's difficult but not impossible. Happy to discuss details by messaging if you want to. Remember that it may take a week or so to completely clear out iirc.
Unfortunately yes First one is and now my second 1 I breastfeed my first 1 till 23 months And I had to cut out Dariy from my diet But if you are Formula feeding the pediatrician will give you the right formula to feed your baby dairy free
Yeah are you breastfeeding or formula fed? Like Audrey said it’s not an allergy. It’s a food intolerance. My son had food intolerances to milk and corn. So as long as you cut out the issue completely then yeah everything in their gut should heal up. Just tough when you introduce solids since you will have to read all the food labels to make its dairy free.
MSPI (milk Soy Protein Intolerance) is common. In breast-fed babies it shows up as green poop, mucousy stool, and blood if it gets bad enough. I had to cut out dairy and soy, but they grow out of it around one year of age. The good thing is it’s not a true allergy, it’s a protein intolerance. if you formula feed it can be as easy as changing the formula, but if you breast-feed, you have to cut everything from your diet (which is what I did).
I went through this with my four year old son. After changing his formula he was a completely different baby!
