Trunki or backpacks for flight/ holiday?

My eldest loves taking his trunki as his hand luggage on holiday. I haven’t found them heavy or bulky, and he’s always pulled it or ridden it himself, haven’t had to carry it for him. I think if I gave him a rucksack, he’d just complain about having to carry it and I would for sure end up carrying it for him. They can be taken on as hand luggage, yes. My main reservation before I got one was about how much it would hold, and actually I was quite surprised how much it can.
Same as @Laura they open really wide and are difficult to get things out when you are on the plane , we also weren't allowed to take it as hand luggage last year on easy jet as it was too big
@Kath I took mine on as hand luggage last year with easy jet 🤔
@Chloe they wouldn't let us take it last year probably depends on the staff
@Kath we used ours on jet2! They’ve never said no - BUT it does have to go in the over head storage and not under seat :)
Who knows 🫣 to be fair we don't have use her hand luggage allowance now, as find it easier that way
My son absolutely loves his Trunki, the main point for us is that he can sit on it anywhere when waiting around, and he also love to ride it, so we just pull him. We have taken it as hand luggage many times on wizzair and easyjet.
We use trunki all the time! They’re not as bulky as I think people expect we normally have 3 year olds pram as well but honestly trunki isn’t a problem We find it keeps thing sort of organised :)
