Sleep training

Hi all, Looking for tips on sleep training my 18 month old… He has never slept through the night and he is waking every hour, sometimes more and it’s affecting the whole household. I have an almost 4 year old and I’m currently 34 weeks pregnant so about to have a newborn in the house. He goes down in the cot pretty easily but when he wakes at about 10am it’s very hard to get him back to sleep in it. We take him to our bed and he falls asleep for a bit then is up crying every hour or so and doesn’t know how to self settle. He uses a dummy as well which I think isn’t helping… I’d prefer not to use the cry it out method but honestly I’m so exhausted that I’ll probably try anything. Thank you xx

I’m going through the same thing. Bub is 8 months old, goes to bed around 7:30-8pm depending on her last wake window. She’ll sleep till around 11:30-12pm then will keep waking every 30mins-1 hour. Hubby and I are beyond exhausted now. We’re making sure she’s having enough calories during the day, has enough sips of water, the recommended total day naps as well. She isn’t too hot or cold in her sleep. Putting a dummy back in her mouth usually shuts her up and lately she’s been practising to put it back in herself which has been somewhat better but last night she kept crying and waking and expected us to soothe her. She is teething again but to be honest she’s been a terrible sleeper from the very beginning so I’m ruling out that teething is what’s causing the frequent wake ups. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😩

@Zeynep it’s so hard isn’t. You try everything and nothing works. I know some nights we’re down to teething but as you said he’s been a terrible sleeper from the get go and he isn’t teething every night!

I got an online sleep consultant for my 30th birthday and it was amazing. Best present I have ever received. The company is called little muffins sleep school. I’ve also heard good things about taking cara babies. I think she does an ebook.

@Abby thank you so much, I’ll check those out xx
