1. Was told in advance it was w39, got tbr date the week before. Then on the day you go in at about 7am they do an assessment of everyone and then let you know your approx time. You are waiting in a 4 person ward during that time- but you can go out. 2.As Kristine said 3. 4 person ward. 4. Toilet across from the wards. There is food Mary ward, breakfast, lunch and dinner multiple options, then toast and coffee on demand. I know hospital food gets a bad rep but I really rate the food. 5.As per Kristine 6. I had a really good experience second time. Midwives generally are super lovely and supportive. The theatre team, particularly the anaesthetists are amazing. I did have a bad experience after birth with my first (not c section but theatre/ spinal still), the midwife didn't let my baby find his own way to feed which I wanted and was like best to just get him on and pushed him on my boob. I will always regret that.
Thank you both, that’s so helpful! What are the visiting hours for partners?
Partners can be with you all the time.
@Marianne thank you!
1. I think is a week before the section you get your date. I had my elective c-section at 38w and got the date just few days before. 2. It is the same side of hospital. Birth centre (D5) in RUH is just opposite D7. 3. I believe generally is a 4 person room. But I was give a single room because of allergies. 4. Toilets and showers are very close to the wards. And they have canteens and cafes in the hospital not very far away. Also you can order uber eats or deliveroo and send your partner to go get them from the G/F. 5. You take everything in when you come in. And you can leave them in the birth centre. All your stuff will send to the ward later after the section. 6. The last time I had a really good experience. All happened in a very relaxed way. They talked you through every steps they are doing and make sure you know what is happening. Love the midwife team there. Very helpful and supportive
