Not talking

Definitely don’t wait, they should be saying many words by now

My daughter says mama, daddy, shoes, and noises of animals but apart from that nothing else! But she is also surrounded by three languages everyday so I think this plays a big thing into this

My little one does have a lot of words. He sings songs too (albeit not very clear but me, his dad and brother know what it is). My first is now 4 though and his speech was quite a lot further behind. He suddenly picked up between 18 months to 2. He now doesn’t shut up! X

@Paula there’s not much I can do. I’ve called the hv over 15 times and even went to the gp to try and get a referral but it was rejected 😫

@Sammy thank you this had made me feel a lot better. Did you do anything to help his speech come along? I’ve been trying to get a speech referral but it keeps getting rejected x

I just spoke to him constantly!! But other than that, no I didn’t. My October 2023 baby says a lot, but he has his older brother to copy! Xx

Does he use a dummy a lot? My nephew barely said anything up until the age of 2, and he's 3 in August and now doesn't stop talking lol! I wouldn't be too concerned at this age. They pick things up very quickly from about 18 months to 2 years x

My little girl didn’t speak till she was over 2 years old apart from mum and no. She is now 10 and she really doesn’t stop talking! My triplets are also 18 months old and they only mum and dad and one says a few more. I’m really not worried as all babies are different and will do things at different times x
