Id say yes to be safe ive been washing mine with hot water and cotton pads and patting it dry x

@Lisa thank you for this I’ve just called gp I can go in today at 2.30pm hopefully get it seen to properly.. I’m so terrified that it might open up ect.. it’s my first C-section after 3 normal deliveries.. I didn’t know I cud clean it like that I was told just to let the shower water run over it but from now on I’m doin what u do with the water and cotton pad and dry it properly

If it smells then yes it does sound like an infection and you’ll probably need antibiotics.

@Neena got a gp appointment today, I m just hoping it’s where it is sweaty and that’s the smell but hopefully 🤞🏼

@Saadia fingers crossed it goes ok for you lovely. A little tip a midwife told me to keep the area dry was to buy a pack of long panty liners and use one to stick to the underside of the overhang part so it covers the wound and keeps it dry. Hope that helps x

@Neena I actually hadn’t thought of that thank you for this.. I was about to go buy the lansinoh hydrogel pads

@Saadia bless you i let the water run down too i also get my partner to do the cotton pads so i know its being cleaned good you could also dry it with the cool setting on the hair dryer another good tip is using a sanitry pad and put it between you belly and it helps with the sweat i have a tummy too and its hard to keep dry x

@Lisa Yh literally never knew it would be so hard to keep dry all the time but I’m going to take better precautions now the last thing I want is it opening up

@Saadia how did you get on x

@Lisa they said it wasn’t actually infected cus there isn’t nothing oozing out of it and that the smell was from “sweat” apparently.. and she said that it’s actually healing very well and it’s not opened or anything and to just keep cleaning with lucke warm water cotton pads and pat it dry

@Saadia I had the same thing said when I went GP as mine had gone pink and stingy too, they told me to apply sudocrem x

Mine has gone back to normal colour now as of today which I’m super happy about I been paranoid and cleaning it every 2 hours 😂
