Elective C-section UK

I am requesting an elective c-section due to Tokophobia but I have not yet received an appointment to discuss this with a Consultant (based in the UK - under NHS). For those that had elective c-sections in the UK, when was an appointment scheduled with a Consultant to discuss this? This is my first baby and I will be 27 weeks tomorrow so I have no previous experience but my anxiety is through the roof waiting!

I had a consultation call at about 22 weeks, I would call and chase :)

I told them I wanted a c section when I was 38 weeks at triage and I signed the consent form and they phoned me a week later on the Friday asking me to come in the Monday for a section and I had my daughter at 39+4 weeks and this was all due to anxiety

I had my appointment around 30 weeks ago. I asked for an elective c section too. My DD was given to me 5 days before the c section (week 39).

Thank you! I will chase them as I raised it in my first midwife appointment at 13 weeks but am still yet to hear anything. Fingers crossed I’ll hear back soon as the waiting around is just adding to the anxiety of everything🤞🏼

34 or 36 weeks. Can’t remember! You’ve got plenty of time. I wouldn’t worry too much yet

You may ask your midwife to take you through each and every step of c section for your peace of mind. I have had a lovely and very supportive midwife who managed to arrange a separate appointment with labour ward midwife to address my questions etc.

I discussed with obstetric mental health dr at 13 weeks, and they made me another appointment at 34 weeks to give my final decision

Just thought i’d come back and update for anyone else in the same situation, I now have an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks time to discuss the c-section
