Mummy MOT

Has anyone had a mummy MOT and do you recommend it? I had an emergency c-section and want to understand if it would be worth getting one

Yes, was useful for me to find out where I was in my recovery- pelvic floor, stomach muscles and c section scar. I was given some exercises which have definitely helped!

What else do they check?

Where do you get one done?

Yes absolutely . Worth every ££. Good to gauge where you are with your core and pelvic floor, if there is diastasis , and depending on pre pregnancy level of fitness you get advise on how to proceed , and get given pelvic floor & core strengthening exercises . It’s useful as it will help you understand your current body and work on strengthening and preventing injuries moving forward .

@Alex whatever you ask them about really, I found it very personalised and filled out a survey beforehand on what I wanted to achieve etc.

@Madeeha I googled local physios until I found one that specialises in women's health and had good reviews

Shame to even have to pay, this should be given as part of your post partum checks :(

I’d recommend having it. I also had an emergency c-section and so had my MOT 6 weeks pp. I also got some exercise to help with recovery
