Feel like my boy is falling behind with speech. I've seen and heard lots of toddlers his age speaking two word sentences and our boy just isn't there yet. He probably has a vocabulary of maybe 50/60 words but it's all single words. Feeling anxious.

I wouldn’t feel anxious at all! If the understanding is there, the speech will come. My daughter was born end of August 23, was due 3rd of September and I was worried at first. The last 2 weeks she’s been saying so many new words, but it’s on her own terms. I’ll say to her say mummy. She’ll look at me dead in the face and say no and run off 😂

@Courtney oh the understanding is definitely there !! He understands everything you can't say anything around him anymore 😂

That sounds very normal. I don’t know how often you look on this group but there are lots of posts from mums whose babies have a much lower vocabulary! 50/60 words at this age sounds fine! x

50/60 is alot! I wouldn't worry at all. My son only says 1 word per time (but only knows of 3). Your son will get there very soon

That's good going! Every child develops at their own pace. My daughter is way ahead with her speech but others we know the same age are further ahead than her in physical development so climbing, spatial awareness etc. His little brain has probably been developing other parts first, and that's all OK 🥰
