he’s just trying out new stuff. my son walked around wearing hello kitty shoes because he liked it and he played with dolls. He’s a fine young man now with a wonderful girlfriend. you have nothing to worry about

My son has just picked up a dress in a shop and instead of being "concerned" I told him how pretty he looked and that purple was his colour, and we carried on with our trip. Nothing wrong with it. My son has 2 sisters so we paint his toes as well. Doesn't mean he's gonna grow up gay. And if he did it wouldn't be because we let him paint his toes...

I suppose it would be just exploring because he's just a kid. He's just having fun. My son wants to paint his nails too, but the answer is no. I bought him a barber shop toy set. I don't think it's OK for me to lead my son into believing it's OK for him to paint his nails when I paint his sisters nails. I wouldn't want him to be mislead in his sexuality. I mean you know, God made him in his IMAGE. he's of God's HERITAGE. how dare I as a mother want to protect him. No it's not weird. Don't feel weird. Feel protected.

Im confused what’s concerning? Do you paint your nails? Kids tend to mimic things they see or are exposed to. If you don’t want him to you can redirect and say “hey we only color on paper” but i wouldn’t make it a negative thing unless it’s like destroying walls, furniture or clothing but that’s just me

@Danee well said. Glad somebody said it. 👏 I don't think it's concerning bc like others said he's probably seen you do it or whatnot. But it's best not to encourage that behavior. There's one thing letting your son play with dolls and stuff but painting nails and maybe makeup or dressing in dresses should be a drawn line. It'll just get him confused and at little ages they don't need all that confusion especially in this messed up world we live in now. I'd just explain to him that that's what little girls do and it's not for boys.
